Microfilm Links: 35mm microfilm
35mm microfilm or aperture cards are used for the storage of engineering drawings. A single frame is capable of holding an A0 size original, and when on an aperture card the drawing can be annotated for ease of retrieval. 35mm roll film is usually used as the backup copy as this can hold around 600 drawings.
Newspapers are also placed onto 35mm microfilm from which a positive copy is produced for ease of reading and picture recognition.
