Alchemy Web is an extension for Alchemy Server that automatically publishes repository content to the Internet as a Web site. From a browser, content consumers can browse, search and view the content from one or many repositories. When you have fixed content that must be accessed by remote users over the Internet, add Alchemy Web to your Alchemy Server system. An Alchemy Web license adds two main components to your system. Alchemy Web EngineWeb Engineis the server-side .NET component that manages HTTP access, decides what repositories to publish, and determines the settings for end users. It includes a management console to add or remove repositories. The Web administrator can configure several options for users such as document viewing options, search result list settings, and background colors and fonts. Alchemy Web SearchWeb Searchis the content consumer interface that runs within Internet Explorer and is automatically published when a user logs in to an Alchemy Web site. It has the same look and feel as the popular Alchemy Search for Windows client, bringing the convenience and power of IMR's classic '3-pane' contextual view to the Internet. Powerful yet simple queries across repositoriesOne simple query races across multiple repositories to quickly produce a results list, neatly categorised by repository. Sort the results by title, date or a custom profile field. Then simply click and view the contents. IMR's new and unique fixed content viewerIMR has developed a very efficient, highly secure and easy to use viewer for the Internet. This viewer provides fast and consistent display of PDF files, TIFFs, colour image files (JPEG, BMP, GIF etc.), text files and COLD text with overlays - all in one viewer. It has several special features such as the option to save or email the viewed document as a PDF, TIFF or HTML version. The viewer also has a full-screen, slide show option for applications where you need to browse a large image collection quickly. Integration with other Web applicationsAccess repositories and content from within other Web applications. You can execute simple or complex searches from within another Web application and pass them to the Alchemy Web server. The search results will be displayed within the Alchemy Web browser. You can place links on any Web page to any document in a repository. When a user clicks on the link, the document will be downloaded, or displayed within the IMR Viewer, or opened in a desktop application. You can place links to repositories on any Web page.
