Newspapers are still required to be microfilmed to allow public access to historic and recent events locally, nationally and worldwide. Microfilm is a low-cost, secure long-term medium, which is readily suited to the long-term archival storage of newspapers and easily read through a microfilm reader printer. A master negative film is produced and archived for security, from which a positive duplicate is created, this used for viewing. |
